Daily World Peace Prayer
During our Summer Camp in 2009, the group decided that they wanted to do a World Peace Prayer at 4:00pm every day for a month as one of their action steps. After the first month, we gathered to discuss our experiences and decided, since nearly everyone agreed it was the highlight of their day, that we would continue with it indefinitely. Please feel free to join us in meditation, prayer, or contemplation every day at 4:00pm Mountain Time.
Do-Good Days started during the first PeaceDance class in 2004. We have gathered many times since then to do random (or not-so-random) acts of kindness together. You don't need to be in a group to participate. Everyone can set aside a day once a week, once a month, or whenever it feels appropriate, for doing random acts of kindness and spreading joy. Expect more organized events for young people coming in Spring 2010.
International Day of Peace
PeaceDance has been celebrating the United Nations International Day of Peace annually on September 21st for the past four years. Past events have included intergenerational philosophy circles about the meaning of peace, a series of philosophy circles for New Vista students, and a peace party. Expect something for Fall 2010.
There are many projects and events planned for PeaceDance in 2010, from summer camps, to leadership retreats, to a lively newsletter and more.
